VULTUREKULTURE is a confrontational concept album from Ducati James that reclaims and redefines the loaded term culture vulture. Instead of scapegoating outsiders, the project flips the lens inward—arguing that hip hop itself has become its own predator, trapped in a cycle of self-cannibalization, aesthetic mimicry, and identity erosion.
Through sharp satire and unflinching critique, the album explores how Black culture has been commodified by a mainstream rap industry now more obsessed with European fashion houses, surgically curated appearances, and aristocratic aesthetics than with the street roots that birthed the genre. Skinny jeans, luxury logos, and social media spectacle replace raw expression and authenticity.
VULTUREKULTURE is not just a critique—it’s an exposé. It doesn’t merely ask who stole the culture? It asks the harder question: who sold it?
